Google DeepMind has expanded its SynthID watermarking technology from images and text to synthetic biology. The system embeds invisible, persistent mathematical identifiers directly into AI-designed protein sequences and structures, allowing DNA manufacturers to verify provenance and prevent the synthesis of dangerous pathogens.
